What's a cerebral infarction?

A cerebral infarction, commonly known as a stroke, occurs when blood flow to a part of the brain is disrupted or decreased, resulting in brain tissue not getting enough oxygen and nutrients. This interruption can be caused by clogging (ischemic stroke) or bleeding (hemorrhagic stroke). Most cerebral infarction is essentially ischemic, resulting from obstruction, such as a blood clot in the cerebral artery.

Causes of cerebral infarction...?

A cerebral infarction, or ischemic stroke, is caused by an interruption of blood supply to a part of the brain, and a lack of oxygen and nutrients causes brain cells to die. The main causes of cerebral infarction are as follows.

1.Thrombosis: aortic atherosclerosis: Accumulation of plaque in the aorta (e.g., carotid artery or spinal artery) can narrow the arteries and eventually block them. The formation of blood clots in these plaque areas can disrupt blood flow to the brain.

Microvascular Disease: The condition, also known as a thermodynamic stroke, occurs when a small artery deep in the brain is blocked. It is often associated with chronic diseases such as high blood pressure and diabetes.

2.embolism: Cardiac embolism Stroke: Blood clots can form in the heart, especially in conditions such as atrial fibrillation, heart valve disease, or cardiac arrest. These blood clots can travel through the bloodstream and settle in the brain arteries, causing obstruction.

Arterial hepatic embolism: Plaque or blood clots in large arteries can come off and travel to small arteries in the brain.

3.Depression of perfusion: Systemic hypotension: A significant drop in blood pressure that can occur during cardiac arrest, severe blood loss, or shock can lead to decreased blood flow to the brain, especially in the watershed (the area of the brain where the most blood is supplied). The distal branch of the main artery.

4.Other causes: Blood diseases: Conditions such as sickle cell disease, severe anemia, or hypercoagulation (a condition in which the blood tends to clot) can lead to cerebral infarction.

Inflammatory Diseases: Diseases such as vasculitis (vascular inflammation) can tighten and block the brain arteries.
Cause of infection: Infections such as endocarditis can form blood clots in the heart valve, causing embolization to the brain.

Drug Use: Illegal drugs such as cocaine and methamphetamine can cause severe vasoconstriction and infarction.

Early symptoms of cerebral infarction...?

Early symptoms of cerebral infarction, also known as ischemic stroke, usually appear suddenly and can vary depending on the part of the brain affected. Rapid recognition of these symptoms is important for timely medical intervention. The main initial symptoms are as follows.

1.Sudden numbness or weakness: This often affects one side of the body, including the face, arms, or legs. For example, one arm or leg may experience weakness or paralysis, or one side of the face may be sagging.

2. Confusion or speaking problem: You have sudden difficulty speaking or understanding words. This can be seen as unclear speech, difficulty finding words, difficulty understanding what others say, and so on.

3.Sight Problems: Suddenly, you have trouble seeing one or both eyes. This can include blurred vision, double vision, or complete vision loss in one eye.

4.Difficulty walking: Sudden dizziness, loss of balance, or lack of coordination makes walking difficult.

5.Sudden headache of unknown cause can be more severe than a normal headache and can be accompanied by nausea or vomiting.

6. Additional Symptoms

Other symptoms include: When your legs suddenly become numb or feel weak
a sudden adjustment or balance problem

Giddy or dizzy: Feeling like a room is spinning or out of balance.

The Importance of Early Recognition It is important to recognize these symptoms early and seek immediate treatment. Treatments that restore blood flow to the brain are most effective when administered within hours of symptom onset, greatly increasing the likelihood of recovery and reducing the risk of a long-term brain haemorrhage.
